Lucy is an Associate in our employment practice in Dubai, working closely alongside Rachel Hill. Lucy advises on all aspects of employment and immigration matters from on boarding employees through to termination. Lucy has experience of drafting day-to-day employment documentation, including service agreements, employment contracts, commission and bonus arrangements and employee handbooks. Lucy has been involved in a number of litigation matters across the local labour courts, the DIFC and the ADGM. Her experience also includes providing employment support on corporate transactions, including carrying out employment due diligence, drafting and negotiating service agreements and transfer agreements. 

Lucy also advises employers on all issues in connection with Emiratisation, including quotas, mitigation strategies and disputing and mitigating potential fines for non-compliance. 

Experience
  • Acting for a global conglomerate on a highly confidential internal investigation, regarding sexual harassment allegations made against senior members of staff. Advising on a complex investigation covering multiple employees with a view to defend a pending claim before the local labour courts. 
  • Drafting and implementing a phantom share, commission and profit share plan for a leading hospitality group in the UAE. 
  • Advising a global beverage producer on dual employment rights and transferring staff to the UAE from various jurisdictions. 
  • Managing litigation cases in the Dubai Labour Courts, including claims for alleged unpaid commission and unlawful termination.
  • Acting for an international law firm in respect of an employment claim brought by a former Partner for alleged unpaid bonus payments in the DIFC Courts.
