Vanessa is an Associate in Addleshaw Goddard, Singapore. She is experienced in energy, construction and international arbitration.

She regularly acts as counsel in numerous complex multi-jurisdictional international arbitrations on a wide range of projects globally, including disputes in Brazil, Mexico, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

She also advises international clients in the upstream energy sector and other prominent marine offshore contractors on a broad range of contracts. These include construction, operation and lease of Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels in Brazil, Guyana and Mexico, EPC/EPCI contracts, projects involving wind farms, subsea cables, land reclamation, detailed design engineering services, and various other offshore marine projects.

Vanessa's experience includes:

  • Acting for major shipyard in multiple Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) arbitrations involving termination disputes arising under agreements for the supply of drilling equipment packages for multiple drillships with claims in excess of USD200 million.
  • Acting for a leading global offshore contractor in an SIAC arbitration involving a major subsea cable installation project in South East Asia with claims in excess of SGD 100 million.
  • Acting for a leading global offshore contractor in a Badan Arbitrase Nasional Indonesia (BANI) arbitration in Jakarta involving a dispute over reclamation works at a port in Indonesia with claims in excess of USD 90 million.
  • Acting for a leading global offshore contractor in an SIAC arbitration involving termination and calls on bank guarantees on a LNG terminal project in Russia with claims in excess of USD 120million.
  • Acting for a leading provider of offshore oil and gas solutions in a SIAC arbitration involving a dispute over a FPSO for an oil field in Mexico with claims in excess of SGD 10 million
  • Acting for major shipyard in SIAC arbitrations involving termination disputes over agreements for the supply of thruster packages for drillships.
  • Acting for major shipyard in London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) arbitrations involving warranty claims in relation to a semisubmersible rig.
  • Acting for a major shipyard in a dispute involving delays in construction and commissioning of HVDC Offshore Converter Platform for a Wind Farm project in the North Sea.
  • Acting for a leading global offshore contractor in a dispute involving a turnkey FPSO installation project in India.
