Jan is a Polish-qualified tax adviser (doradca podatkowy) and a senior associate in the Warsaw tax practice. He has built a comprehensive understanding of tax matters, particularly in VAT, CIT, PIT, and international tax, along with EU directives. His expertise shines in international tax planning and structuring, as well as tax advisory for M&A and restructuring transactions involving leading domestic and international companies.

With several years of experience, Jan has been a vital resource for both international and domestic clients across numerous business sectors. His accomplishments include advising real estate investment companies on establishing efficient and tax-compliant structures in Poland, assisting the US investment funds in recovering inappropriately withheld dividend tax, and supporting foreign companies in implementing share plans and other incentive schemes.

• Advising the Carlyle portfolio company on the various tax aspects of the acquisition of a majority stake in Masterchem, a leading company in the PET packaging market in Poland and across the CEE region.
• Advising Niam on all tax aspects of the sale of Silesia Business Park A and B located in Katowice.
• Advising Signal Capital Partners on a joint venture with Echo Investment and Griffin Capital Partners to develop a student housing platform in Poland. The joint venture is aiming to develop, as a first step, an operating portfolio of 5,000 purpose-built student beds across Poland.
• Advising Celsa Huta Ostrowiec on the tax aspects of the reorganisation of its financial indebtedness with various financial institutions.
• Advising the US investment funds in the withholding tax refund proceedings related to inappropriately withheld dividend tax in Poland.
