Expertise
Jennifer is a senior lawyer within the Financial Regulation team at Addleshaw Goddard. Her specialism is regulated mortgage lending (regulated lending and banking), for which the Financial Regulation team is ranked Tier 1 in Chambers and Partners. In addition to her mortgage practice, Jennifer also advises banks, building societies, insurers and intermediaries on the distribution of insurance and associated regulatory issues.
Prior to joining Addleshaw Goddard, Jennifer spent 8 years in the in-house legal team at Leeds Building Society, where she advised on a wide range of retail financial services regulatory and compliance issues.
Jennifer's experience includes:
- Consumer Duty Re-write Projects: Leading Consumer Duty terms and conditions re-write projects for major mortgage lenders
- New Mortgage Entrants: Drafting complete suites of mortgage documentation for new market entrants, successfully supporting clients entering highly regulated markets
- Corporate Transactions / M&A: Providing strategic regulatory advice on complex corporate transactions within the financial services sector
- Supporting Product Innovation in the Mortgage Market: Managing the development and amendment of mortgage documentation for innovative product launches, such as joint borrower sole proprietor, family assist lending, shared ownership and shared equity products for lenders
- Reviewing and drafting terms and conditions for compliance with unfair contract terms legislation, business efficacy and regulatory compliance
- Drafting and negotiating agreements in respect of general insurance, including insurance distribution agreements and advising on the application of ICOBS
