Expertise

Fraser is an Associate in Addleshaw Goddard’s Commercial Disputes team. He has experience advising on a broad range of contentious matters, including property, contractual and construction disputes. Recently, Fraser has acted on high-value and complex procurement litigation, and regularly acts for private and public sector clients, including local authorities, financial institutions, corporates and individuals.

Fraser has appeared in the Sheriff Courts across Scotland and has experience instructing Counsel in the Court of Session. He also has experience in proceedings before the Lands Tribunal for Scotland.

Fraser is known for his pragmatic approach, attention to detail and ability to manage complex disputes. 

Experience

Recent experience includes:

  • Acting in a landmark multi-million-pound procurement dispute before the Court of Session, resulting in a published decision which has provided important clarifications for the Scottish procurement regime including in relation to unlawful means conspiracy. 
  • Defending urgent procurement proceedings relating to a multi-million-pound contract to operate an energy from waste facility providing crucial waste and energy services to three Council areas.
  • Acting for a client in an international jet fuel dispute, defending allegations of fraud and unlawful means conspiracy, and coordinating with multiple international law firms.
  • Advising an international company on claims arising from substantial damage caused by historic coal mining at one of its sites
  • Acting for a private company in a series of disputes affecting a housing development, including issues relating to servitude rights, nuisance, defamation and obstruction.
