Alice is an Associate our commercial dispute resolution team. Alice has experience in a wide range of commercial disputes including public procurement disputes, public law disputes, shareholder disputes, professional negligence disputes and general contractual claims, acting for clients in both the private and public sector.
Alice assists the team on a variety of disputes through at all stages of the court process (and Alternative Dispute Resolution), acting for both claimants and defendants.
- Experience
Her recent experience includes:
- advising both contracting authorities and bidder clients in relation to public procurement challenges, in particular in the transport and health sectors.
- assisting with various public law matters including in relation to judicial review proceedings.
- acting for a government body in defending a claim from a well-known, unsuccessful bidder in a procurement relating to the provision of train travel services.
- acting for a cyber security company in its challenge of the contract award decision by a government body in a procurement relating to the provision of security services.
- acting for a clinical waste processing company in various proceedings issued in tandem against 23 defendants, including a number of NHS bodies.
- acting for a local Council in defending claims from an unsuccessful bidder in a procurement relating to the provision of school transport services.
- acting for a manufacturer of blood gas testing solutions in relation to various intimated procurement challenges against an NHS Trust, following its unsuccessful tender for the provision of relevant services.
- acting for the founders of a successful medical company in their defence of a number of high-value, High Court and Court of Appeal actions involving injunctive relief, breaches of warranty and fraudulent misrepresentation.
- acting for a Northern Irish distribution business with the pre-action management of a series of claims for indemnity relief pursuant to The Commercial Agents (Council Directive) Regulations 1993.
- assisting with and attending a Supreme Court appeal on behalf of the appellants (an international haulage business), in their dispute relating to the respondent’s ability to recover excise duty pursuant to the CMR (UKSC/2021/0144).
