Addleshaw Goddard reveals “Flourish in the City” garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026
International law firm Addleshaw Goddard (AG) returns to the RHS Chelsea Flower (19-23 May) next week with a new show garden, Addleshaw Goddard: Flourish in the City.
Continuing the firm’s collaboration with award-winning designers Joe and Laura Carey, the garden is inspired by London’s overlooked green spaces and hidden rivers and the role they play in shaping life, wellbeing and biodiversity in the city. It marks the second year of Addleshaw Goddard’s partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society as official legal partner of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
The Addleshaw Goddard: Flourish in the City garden blends natural forms and native plants with reclaimed Portland stone and copper to reflect the City’s rich heritage. The imaginative design includes water features that are a nod to London’s hidden rivers and the use of innovative, eco-friendly materials, such as walls made from oyster shells recycled from London restaurants.
During the Show, Addleshaw Goddard will welcome clients and guests to a programme of more than 50 firm hosted events, alongside curated garden tours and meetings throughout the week. A Flourish in the City advertising campaign across key London transport hubs, such as Bank and London Bridge, will extend visibility of the partnership with the RHS beyond the Show itself, and reinforce the firm’s long-term commitment to the London and the City.
Andrew Johnston, Managing Partner of Addleshaw Goddard, the international law firm, comments:
“As a growing firm deepening our own roots in the City, we are proud to support the RHS Chelsea Flower Show as official legal partner. It is a unique opportunity for us to get together with almost 600 of our clients over the course of a week at one of London’s most iconic events. The Flourish in the City theme of our show garden epitomises Addleshaw Goddard as a business. Our ambition to help our clients, communities and the City itself to flourish is at the heart of what we do.
“Inspired by the many small parks and hidden rivers of London, the world’s first National Park City, the Addleshaw Garden Flourish in the City garden celebrates the importance of green spaces in the capital. We are delighted it will have a lasting legacy after the show in a permanent new home at Baston House School, a specialist educational provider for autistic children and young people in Bromley.”
Joe Carey, Carey Garden Design Studio, adds:
"We are thrilled to be back at Chelsea with a garden for AG that celebrates the importance of green spaces in the city of London. Not many people know that London is one of the greenest cities in the world. To collaborate with such an innovative and outward-facing firm such as AG, we have the opportunity to bring this hopeful story to the world's greatest flower show.
"This garden brings a much-needed message of hope in turbulent times. Urban green spaces and gardens ought not be luxuries, but vital ingredients for any flourishing city. We are thrilled to bring this garden - a celebration of London as the world's greenest city - to RHS Chelsea Flower Show with returning sponsor and official legal partner Addleshaw Goddard. It has been an honour to work with AG over the past 18 months to bring this project to life. Their support and championing of the arts and creativity underpins everything. It is a privilege to exhibit on the world's stage, and to do so with such an optimistic vision of London's past, present and future."
Last year’s Addleshaw Goddard: Freedom to Flourish garden, designed by Joe and Laura, won a Gold Medal and was named RHS Chelsea Small Garden of the Year, as well as receiving the Best Construction Award. It was relocated to the New Forest, where it now provides an oasis of calm for young carers at our charity partner, the Honeypot Children’s Charity’s respite centre.
