Digital disputes heavyweight James Hyde joins Addleshaw Goddard
International law firm Addleshaw Goddard has further strengthened its commercial disputes team with the appointment of James Hyde as Partner in its Leeds office.
Hyde joins from Eversheds Sutherland, bringing over 20 years of experience in high-value, complex commercial litigation, with a market-leading focus on technology, communications and data-related disputes. At Eversheds Sutherland, he led the firm’s international TMT disputes practice and its Telecoms sector. His arrival underlines Addleshaw Goddard’s commitment to support clients at the sharp edge of digital transformation.
Recognised as 'a standout partner' by Legal 500 (2024) and praised for delivering 'excellent support' in Chambers UK (2024), Hyde has advised major UK and international clients – including global businesses, tech providers, telecoms giants and regulated institutions – on disputes involving ICT outsourcing, software licensing, digital procurement, system outages, cyber and data security breaches, and AI-related risks.
He will play a key role in the continued expansion of the contentious arm of the firm’s Tech Group, which has significantly invested in its non-contentious offering, adding several lateral partners over the past couple of years, including Richard Watkinson, Michael Peeters, Nathalie Trainor, and Ben Cooke.
