Addleshaw Goddard Strengthens Private Equity Team with Strategic Hires and Leadership Appointments
Addleshaw Goddard has significantly bolstered its Private Equity practice with the appointments of two new partners: Sharon Skipper-Gordon from Kirkland and Ellis and Robbie Hay from Milbank, along with the promotion to Partner of David Parker. These strategic hires underscore the firm's commitment to growing its Private Equity practice.
Each of them bring extensive experience advising sponsors, management teams, and portfolio companies across the full investment lifecycle. Sharon and Robbie's arrival enhances the firm's ability to support clients operating in increasingly sophisticated deal environments on high-value, cross-border deals across a broad range of sectors.
The expansion aligns with recent leadership changes, including the appointment of Paul Medlicott as Head of Private Equity, succeeding Mike Hinchliffe. These developments mark a new chapter for the team, reinforcing its position as a leader in the mid and upper mid-market and outlining its ambitions for additional growth.
Paul Medlicott, Head of Private Equity at Addleshaw Goddard, commented:
Sharon Skipper-Gordon said: "Addleshaw Goddard has an outstanding reputation particularly in the private equity sector and I am delighted to be joining a team with a clear and deliverable vision for growth. The firm has an unparalleled focus in investing in areas of strategic importance to its clients and I look forward to demonstrating the breadth of offering at the firm to new and existing clients."
Robbie Hay commented: "The energy and ambition at Addleshaw Goddard is truly exciting. The firm offers the perfect platform to continue to develop a practice focused on complex, cross-border, and high-growth deals and I believe clients will find the offering very attractive. I look forward to working with colleagues across the firm to deliver excellent outcomes for our clients and to contribute to the firm’s continued momentum in the private equity space."
These appointments come on the heels of several high-profile mandates that reflect the firm's momentum and trajectory. Notably, Addleshaw Goddard advised Phoenix Equity Partners on a £200 million continuation fund involving Nineteen Group and Envisage Dental. The firm also supported CBPE in its investment into HGF Limited, one of Europe's leading IP services firms. Additionally, Addleshaw Goddard advised Cooper Parry on a majority investment from Lee Equity Partners, marking another significant transaction in the accountancy services sector.
