Addleshaw Goddard hires new Projects Partner as it targets international growth

International law firm Addleshaw Goddard has announced the recruitment of specialist infrastructure lawyer Laura Coates, as a Partner in its Infrastructure, Projects and Energy team in London.

Laura, a transactional projects lawyer with over a decade of experience working on PPP/PFI infrastructure projects in the UK, Ireland and the Middle East, joins AG from Clyde & Co where she set up the firm’s Global PPP Group

She is a trusted adviser to a range of infrastructure funds, investors, service providers, lenders, and contractors across a mix of social and transport infrastructure projects, including healthcare, education, housing and roads.

Laura, a Next Generation Partner in Legal 500 and a Band 2 Ranked Lawyer in Chambers UK, has expertise advising on operational projects, in particular complex contract variations, alongside providing strategic advice on dispute avoidance/resolution. Laura brings a small team with her, including Legal Director, Ana Bonnington.

Laura added: “I look forward to working with Matthew and my new colleagues at AG to build on the market-leading work the team is doing for clients in the UK and internationally. My practice has a strong focus on investors, lenders and asset managers in the PPP market, and I believe AG is the go-to firm for these clients with exciting plans for growth. With recent experience advising clients on PPP projects in KSA, expanding AG’s global PPP practice is also an exciting prospect and I can’t wait to get started.”
