Addleshaw Goddard awarded EcoVadis Gold for sustainability performance

AG’s net-zero science-based targets approved by the SBTi
International law firm Addleshaw Goddard (AG) has been awarded a Gold medal for its sustainability performance by EcoVadis – placing the firm among the top 5% of the 150,000+ companies assessed worldwide.
The Gold medal marks a third consecutive year of progress for Addleshaw Goddard, following Silver in 2024 and a Bronze medal in 2023. This year-on-year improvement reflects AG’s success in embedding responsible business practices across global operations and driving meaningful change.
The external recognition comes as the firm has received approval for its near and long-term Net-Zero commitments from the UN-backed Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Climate change is a critical global issue and AG recognises its responsibility to address it by reducing the firm’s emissions and environmental impact.

“The verification of AG’s net-zero science-based targets by SBTi underscores our commitment to sustainability and responsible business more broadly through our AG2030 strategy. By embedding environmental, social, and ethical performance into the heart of our business, we aim play our part in addressing climate change and position ourselves as a trusted, forward-looking partner to clients and communities worldwide.”
The SBTi has verified the following net-zero science-based targets for AG as part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to align with climate science and limit global warming to 1.5°C:
Near-term targets:
- Reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by FY30 from FY24 base year.

- Reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions by 51.6% per full-time employee by FY30 from FY24 base year.

A review of law firm responsible business activity published in the Lamp House Strategy and Chambers and Partners Annual Report 2025 ranks Addleshaw Goddard as one of the Top 20 law firms for responsible business.

About the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reductions targets in line with the latest climate science. It is focused on accelerating companies across the world to halve emissions before 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions before 2050.
The initiative is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and one of the We Mean Business Coalition commitments. The SBTi defines and promotes best practice in science-based target setting, offers resources and guidance to reduce barriers to adoption, and independently assesses and approves companies’ targets.
