The corporate team at Addleshaw Goddard has advised the shareholders of net zero energy consultancy Padd Energy on its sale to private equity backed sustainability group Anthesis.

Established in 2013 and headquartered in Harrogate, Padd Energy is a specialist energy engineering consultancy passionate about creating power and energy from renewable and sustainable sources whilst reducing emissions from fossil fuels. The business works with some of the world’s largest corporations to identify, agree and meet net-zero commitments, such as Arla, Reckitt and Nestlé. The firm of impact-led engineers, which also has offices in London and Glasgow, is led by Managing Director and founder Chris Paddey.

The AG Leeds-based corporate team advising on the deal was led by Pete Wood and Caera Loughran, assisted by Ed Warmington.

Caera Loughran said: "Padd Energy is a fantastic business playing its part in helping companies make the vital transition to net-zero. This deal will see Chris and the team go from strength to strength as part of the Anthesis group, the world’s largest dedicated group of dedicated sustainability experts. It was a pleasure to work with them on a transaction which suits all parties as they help global businesses on the path to decarbonisation."
