Addleshaw Goddard has announced the strategic appointment of senior legal transformation advisor and managed services specialist Jason Macarthur, who joins as Head of Legal Operations, AG Consulting.
Joining from PwC, where he helped lead the big four's NewLaw focus, Jason joins AG as part of its drive to significantly upscale its legal operations consulting services at a time when GCs are facing increasing complexity and ongoing cost pressure.
Jason's role will see him support GCs and business leaders in Legal department strategy, performance and digital transformation, with a focus on improving efficiencies, cost and value, and transforming customer experience and legal risk management.
Dr Greg Bott, Head of AG Consulting stated: "This is more than a strategic hire for us, this is a real game changer. Jason brings a unique customer lens and multi-disciplinary approach to legal service delivery, with a deep understanding of legal people, process and risk. As a function, Legal operations is very broad but relatively immature. There are very few advisors like Jason with deep advisory and operational experience, inside and outside law, who have led major change. By combining our specialist people and operations capabilities, AG Consulting will help GCs simplify and accelerate performance improvement and change."
Prior to his role at PwC, Jason was Commercial Director at DWF, and led the firm's go-to-market approach for its Managed Services division, including the successful bid for BT's hotly contested outsourcing contract in 2019.
Jason added: "Legal operations is steadily maturing, despite resourcing challenges, on the back of visionary GCs, service delivery culture and motivated in-house teams. Greg and his team are industry leaders in the development of Legal leaders and talent, so joining forces is exciting and gives AG a key differentiator in the legal consulting market. Together, we will help solve the GC's biggest challenges around people, performance and change, in a personal and pragmatic way."
