Addleshaw Goddard has today confirmed that John Joyce has been automatically re-elected Managing Partner for a four-year term with effect from 1 May 2017, following an uncontested election. John was first appointed Managing Partner in May 2014.

Commenting on his re-appointment, John Joyce, Addleshaw Goddard Managing Partner, said:

"I'm very pleased to continue contributing as Managing Partner for another term. Three years ago we set out a plan to improve business focus, performance and returns. Despite the challenging economic and market conditions, we have made substantial progress in developing and improving our business across numerous fronts, most recently through the combination with HBJ - just one aspect of our strategic ambitions and we remain committed to further expansion internationally and in the UK.

"A lot of the measures we have taken in recent years leave the firm not only in an incredibly strong position but also very well positioned with an improved platform, client portfolio and sector focus. We have much we still want to achieve, and our continuing progress positions us very well for further strong growth. I am confident that we can do that and I'm optimistic and excited about our future."

Notes to editors:

The merger with HBJ was announced in December 2016, and will deliver stronger client and sector offerings across the whole of Great Britain - increased bench-strength, enhanced sector expertise and particular depth in financial services and real estate, as well as greater flexibility in resourcing and delivery.

  • Income growth: Turnover of £202m, AG's highest ever and 5% higher than 2014/15, which in turn was 12% higher than prior year.
    • increase in activity across all divisions, driven by exceptional wins, higher value assignments, enhanced panel positions
  • Profit growth: 32% growth
  • Cash position: Continued improvement in the cash position with cash of £25.7m, an increase of over £20m achieved through range of improvements.
