Addleshaw Goddard is advising client GVC Holdings plc on its transfer to a premium listing on the UKLA's Official List. Notification of the proposed transfer was announced on 1 July 2016.

The gaming company, which is currently listed on the UKLA's standard list with a market capitalisation of £1.8bn, anticipates being considered for inclusion into the FTSE UK index series at the FTSE Committee's September quarterly review meeting. The transfer remains subject to UKLA approval which has been requested with effect from 1 August 2016.

The Addleshaw Goddard team advising GVC was led by corporate partner Nick Pearey and Managing Associate Jeremy Cruse.

GVC had originally stated its intention to seek a premium listing as part of its £1.1bn contested takeover of which completed earlier this year. The AG team advised GVC on the transaction and, in 2013, GVC's £485m takeover of Sportingbet plc.

Commenting on the deal, Nick Pearey said: "We've advised GVC on a series of deals over the last five years which have helped grow their business rapidly. The proposed transfer to a premium listing is a significant and exciting milestone for the Company."
