Welcome to the first blog of our series where we give an insight into why AG Integrate is the perfect match for you, our freelance legal consultants and clients.

We’ve been placing hundreds of interim lawyers, legal ops, compliance, risk, governance, company secretarial and other specialists into in-house roles at the world’s best brands since 2015.

But there's a difference in how we fill contract legal positions, because where your next interim legal consultant or legal role is concerned, getting it almost right is 100% wrong.

Thinking of taking a new career path but keen to stay in the legal profession? Then maybe consultancy or freelancing will give you the fresh perspective you've been looking for and provide you with a different work/life balance.

Ayodele Ajose – AG Integrate Consultant with a Global Digital Technology Company

Why did you choose legal freelancing?

I started my career at the Home Office working as a lawyer and was then approached by the CEO of the Forensic Science Service (FSS) to work as Head of Corporate and Policy. This was a broad quasi-legal role which included drafting answers to Parliamentary Questions for the Home Secretary on the law relating to DNA, cases involving miscarriages of justice and the role of forensic science.

When the FSS became a corporate entity (FSS Ltd) I became Head of Legal followed later by General Counsel. As a business the FSS became more commercial and I managed a small team that worked on data protection, employment law, general commercial & IP matters.

I fell into freelancing after FSS Ltd was wound up.

I was introduced to AG Integrate by a partner of Addleshaw Goddard with whom I had worked with on a project previously as he thought that I might enjoy freelancing.

He came to meet me and I plied both him and his colleague with cupcakes and hot chocolate and the rest is history!

He was right - I’ve enjoyed the world of consulting immensely: I have not only enriched my network; I have also broadened my skills set enormously along the way.

I have worked within various sectors including the pharmaceutical industry, software development, financial services, FMCG for a global soft drinks business and I'm currently placed at a global technology company.

My legal knowledge has also expanded from pure commercial law into intellectual property law which I have found both stimulating and rewarding.

Why did you choose to work with AG Integrate?

It’s like working within a family.

Everyone in the team takes the time to get to know you, how you like to work and which client suits your profile best.

AG Integrate has been so successful at identifying the correct ‘fit’ for me' that I have been invited back to the same client on almost all my Assignments!  I have been on most of my Assignments for at least 6 months which shows that their approach to fitting the candidate with the client works extremely well.

What do you love to do outside of work – tell us more about you!

I love to cook (especially baking (those cupcakes made for the Partners of AG were pretty good if I do say so myself)), watching movies and travel.
