Planning for change: The road ahead for employment and immigration law
The Government's plans for employment law reform are taking shape. The Roadmap to the Employment Rights Bill sets out the Government's intended timetable, allowing employers to start planning for implementation. Whilst some reforms are still to be fleshed out by future consultations and have been delayed to 2027, others are expected to take effect as soon as Autumn 2025. In the meantime, we await the imminent publication of the draft Equality (Race and Disability) Bill.
Employers are also getting to grips with the new requirements for sponsoring workers which came into effect in July 2025 and the implementation of the Pay Transparency Directive across Europe. In the courts, cases on religion or belief discrimination, employment status, whistleblowing and equal pay continue to dominate.
Join us at our Autumn HR Breakfast Seminars 2025 where we will dive into the detail of the Government's implementation timetable and the latest developments regarding the reform programme. Our expert speakers will provide practical tips and suggestions to help you prepare for and make the necessary changes in the short, medium and longer-term. We will conclude with an update on immigration, the Pay Transparency Directive and other significant developments, leaving you feeling fully prepared for the road ahead in employment and immigration law.
