Notes to editorAcritas UK Law Firm Brand Index 2017

More than 300 UK based individuals who have senior responsibility for buying legal services were asked to name up to five firms in each category, unprompted. The firms were captured in order of mention. The Index is calculated by awarding 5 points where a firm is named 1st in response to these questions, 4 points where mentioned 2nd, 3 points if 3rd, 2 points if 4th and 1 point if 5th. Points are totalled for all firms and the leader’s total is converted to an Index score of 100, from which all firms’ Index scores are then calculated.

On 1 June 2017 Addleshaw Goddard is merging with HBJ, which has offices in Edinburgh Glasgow and Aberdeen. The enlarged Addleshaw Goddard will have offices in each of the UK's leading financial centres, a growing presence in Asia and the GCC, alongside a world-wide network. With over 230 partners, more than 1,100 lawyers it will be the UK’s 15th largest legal firm, offering to clients enhanced geographical reach, increased practice and sector bench-strength and a more flexible delivery approach.
