Wojciech is Polish-qualified (radca prawny) competition lawyer with over 14 years of experience, focusing on merger control, foreign investment and foreign subsidies aspects of complex multijurisdictional M&A transactions as well as on strategic antitrust investigations across Central & Eastern Europe. He also has a notable experience in state aid matters.
Work highlights*
- Merger control: assisting clients before in proceedings before the European Commission, the Polish competition authority as well as other national competition authorities. Recent work highlights include advising Cerberus Capital Management on the PLN 1 billion acquisition of VeloBank, a leading bank in Poland* that involved securing European Commission’s merger control clearance.
- Antitrust: assisting clients in relation to cartel, abuse of dominance and vertical cases. Recent work highlights include advising representing Dell in Polish competition authority’s proceedings, successfully securing a commitment decision (with no fine) relating to compliance of Dell’s distribution system with competition law.
- Foreign investment: assisting clients on all aspects Polish foreign investment laws and securing relevant regulatory clearances. Recent work highlights include advising Nexi, the leading PayTech company in Italy, on Polish foreign investment law aspects of its merger with Nets, the Nordic payment services provider, a transaction valued at EUR 7.8 billion.
- State aid: assisting clients on EU state aid law and well as Polish public financing regulations. Recent work highlights include Polski Fundusz Rozwoju S.A. with respect to the implementation of the “Financial Shield”, the government financial support programme aimed at reducing the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
