Tomas has advised financial institutions, banks, debt funds, lenders, sponsors and borrowers for over 30 years on the structuring, negotiation and documentation of debt financing facilities for leveraged acquisitions, project finance, holdco financings and other structured finance transactions across the capital stack, particularly in the transition finance space.
Tomas is recognised in Best Lawyers in the UK 2023, UK 2024 and UK 2025 editions for banking and finance. In Chambers & Partners Global, Tomas has been cited as having “impressed us with his negotiation capacity” and is the only foreign expert listed in Sweden for banking & finance. In Legal500 Tomas has been particularly praised for his “strong analytical skills” and his “good understanding of the underlying, complex issues”. He has been cited in Chambers & Partners as “renowned for the international scope of his practice”, and applauded by competitors for his “excellent negotiation skills and judicious approach”. Tomas is qualified both as an advokat in Sweden and as a solicitor in England and Wales. He is fluent in Swedish, English and German and has working knowledge of Danish and Norwegian.
Prior to joining Addleshaw Goddard, Tomas spent 23 years at Norton Rose Fulbright in London and Frankfurt where he was a partner, headed up the finance team in Frankfurt, served on the Global Supervisory Board and headed up the Nordic Group, followed by almost three years at Baker Botts where he deepened his focus on digital infrastructure and the energy transition.

- Altnet fibre - advising funds managed by Ares Management Corporation’s Infrastructure Debt strategy in connection with the financing of an addition £334 million debt investment to UK alternative network Brsk Limited.
- Advising on the development and construction financing of certain heat-to-X pilot projects in Sweden
- NScale – advising Macquarie Bank Limited on its $115million financing of Graphic Processing Units to NScale.
- Solör green financing – advising senior and junior lenders on the SEK14.4 billion green financing of Solör Bioenergy Group.
- Phoenix Towers - advising funds managed by Ares Management Corporation’s Infrastructure Debt strategy and Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (now La Caisse) on the structuring, negotiation and documentation of their €775 million in secured notes issued by affiliates of Phoenix Tower International.
