I originally joined AG to work on the IT Service Desk and after a year with the team I moved across to the IT Training Team. Being part of that team was enjoyable from the start, although there came a point where I started to consider what I might want to do next in my career.

During a one-to-one with my manager I mentioned these thoughts. Rather than dismissing them, my manager began asking questions about what I enjoyed, where my strengths lay and how AG could help me to explore career development within the firm.

The approach was so refreshing, it really encouraged me.

That freedom continued as I transitioned into the role of Digital Learning Practitioner. On one project my manager handed me an e-learning platform and asked me to explore how the firm could make the best use of it. We had a deadline approaching for some training that needed to be delivered, and with that date set it stone I was given the space to develop an approach that would work for both our people and the business. It was a really exciting challenge and I loved repaying the trust placed in me by creating an engaging and effective training experience for everyone.

From my time on the IT Service Desk as well as within the Training team I know that people learn in different ways and our team is always trying to deliver training that works for the wide range of learning styles present at AG. We know some like to read, some like to watch and some like to do, we are always challenging ourselves to make our training products more engaging and effective for everyone at the firm. We are constantly thinking of ways to innovate what we do so it better serves the wider business.

When I joined the firm I did not have a clear career goal in mind or a linear path to follow. However, I was fortunate to find a firm that was committed to creating opportunities for me to develop and grow. 

Being at AG has unlocked my potential and I am really grateful for the support I have received while working here.
