EXPERTISE 

Ronan is a Dispute Resolution Partner specialising in regulatory and statutory offences and remedies including administrative sanction and the relief of Judicial Review. He also practices in the Personal Injury/ product liability areas and has been a past Chairman of the law Society’s litigation Committee.

He has extensive experience in administrative law, medical law, personal Injury cases, statutory Inquiries and Tribunals of Inquiry. He also practises in the area of contentious intellectual property law, specifically trademark and copyright infringement cases.

He regularly oversees cases in the District Court and High Court on behalf of his clients. In the lower jurisdictions, he has excellent advocacy skills and regularly appears on behalf of his clients.

Recent Experience includes advising:

• The Health Products Regulatory Authority on all aspects of its statutory functions. Recent litigation included large scale High Court proceedings representing the regulator in 135 separate sets of proceedings concerning Pandemrix, the “swine flu” vaccine.
• British Sky Broadcasting in relation to the protection and enforcement of its intellectual property in broadcasts, in particular broadcasts of Premiership football.
• A large US based Corporation in relation to the issues it is facing in a case involving cross- border disputes, product delivery issues and market share conflicts.
• A very large global Medical Device manufacturer and supplier in relation to its devices and multiple Personal Injury Actions.
• A European wide manufacturer of Medical Devices as regards liability issues for some of its products.
