EXPERTISE

Maren is an experienced disputes resolution lawyer who advises clients on complex construction and engineering disputes. She has a strong focus on the energy sector having many years of experience advising clients both in the oil and gas sector as well as renewables. Her experience covers infrastructure projects, offshore construction and shipbuilding and she is well versed in all forms of dispute resolution, including mediation, international arbitration (LCIA, ICC and LMAA) and high court litigation. She frequently acts on matters with cross border elements and has experience of managing competing proceedings in other jurisdictions.  

Maren has been an active member of the board of directors of the Norwegian British Chamber of Commerce for a number of years with a particular focus on the chambers' activities in the energy sector which is an important area of co-operation and trade between Norway and the UK. She also sits on the board of Lean In Equity and Sustainability.

Recent experience includes:

  • Advising and providing project support in relation to an LNG project;
  • Advising on issues arising out of a first of its kind renewable heat project
  • Acting on a number of disputes relating to offshore drilling contracts;
  • Advising on a series of adjudications arising out of the design of a major infrastructure project.
