Ella’s experience centres on significantly high value and complex disputes, covering a wide range of claims including loss and expense, delays / extensions of time, variations and professional negligence.

Ella largely acts for government bodies and developers and has worked on a number of high-profile projects.  Her expertise spans the real estate, transport and infrastructure sectors.

Experience

  • Ella works full time from the Doha office, where she works closely with client teams to manage the delivery of work products during the disputes process.
  • Acting for Employers in relation to significant high-value international arbitrations, with a combined value of over US $2 bn. 
  • Acting for a Middle Eastern government entity in an ICC arbitration (GCC seat) brought by a main contractor in respect of a significant infrastructure project.   This dispute includes claims for extensions of time, prolongation, disruption and acceleration costs, together with substantial counterclaims, with total amounts in dispute in excess of US $1bn.
  • Acting for Developers, freeholders and hotel clients on various professional negligence claims in relation to cladding / fire safety defects with a combined value of over £100m.
  • Acting for a developer in respect of a cladding / fire safety claim against 5 defendants in the High Court of England & Wales, where the claim value was £25m.
