Addleshaw Goddard has advised the previous owners of Juers Pharma Import Export GmbH (hereafter "Juers Pharma") on the sale of the company to German Pharma Wholesale Group (GPW Holding GmbH, hereafter "GPW").

Juers Pharma is a leading international pharmaceutical specialty distributor with a focus on importing pharmaceuticals into Germany. The company was founded in Hamburg in 1993. Today, Juers Pharma includes a subsidiary in Müllheim (Baden-Württemberg) as well as Alwer Pharma AG (Birsfelden, Switzerland) in addition to its headquarters in Barsbüttel near Hamburg. The company was last owned by the Alm family. With the sale, the orderly succession of the company is secured and the locations and the team are to be retained. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

GPW is a holding company in the field of pharmaceutical speciality trade, its majority owner is Silver Investment Partners. Juers Pharma complements GPW's internationally active portfolio company Lucien Ortscheit GmbH, which is particularly active in the export of special pharmaceuticals out of Germany.

"With GPW, Juers Pharma has a long-term oriented company at its side that has recognised the enormous potential of this strongly growing niche market and is pursuing a consistent growth strategy. From now on, the forces will be bundled to expand existing markets, open up new markets and grow together", says Christian Alm, Managing Director of Juers Pharma.
