Addleshaw Goddard has been appointed to continue to advise the UK Government on rail legal services, as part of Crown Commercial Service's new Rail Legal Services framework. The 8-firm panel will launch on 21 March 2022.

Crown Commercial Service (CCS) supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2020/21 CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits equal to £2.04 billion - supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.

The new panel covers a wide range of rail-related legal advice to central Government, for clients including the Department for Transport. It will see Addleshaw Goddard, and the other panel firms, work closely with Government to navigate through the coming period of substantial reform and change, addressing the current and future challenges and opportunities facing the rail sector and its many stakeholders. Addleshaw Goddard looks forward to continuing its long standing relationship with Government on this panel.

Paul Hirst, Head of Transport at Addleshaw Goddard said:

"The railway is undergoing the biggest change since privatisation over 25 years ago. We are really excited to be working with colleagues in the Department for Transport and others to help implement the reform programme that will bring forward major change delivering improvements for passengers and freight at pace."
