Addleshaw Goddard is included in Working Families' benchmark report and annual list of the UK's most flexible and family friendly employers, making it one of the top 30 employers for working families and reflecting the firm's continued commitment to flexible working and supporting parents and carers who work.

The benchmark, now in its sixth year, was released to mark the start of National Work Life Week. It focuses on a number of measures including how organisations manage flexible working and work life integration policies, their wider family friendly policies, practices and benefits and, for the first time, their approach to the introduction of Shared Parental Leave.

Addleshaw Goddard has a committed approach to flexible working, making it as easy as possible for working parents and carers to progress in their careers while maintaining a work-life balance. The firm was one of the first to announce its position on Shared Parental Leave, offering enhanced pay to match its maternity policy. In the last year a suite of other initiatives have also been introduced, following consultation with employees, including networking lunches for new and expectant parents, support with sourcing suitable childcare, a "buddy" scheme offered to mothers and adopters returning from leave and seminars, delivered by experts, on eldercare and childcare issues.

Monica Burch, senior partner, said: "We're very proud of our approach to flexible working and the support we offer to working parents as well as being delighted to be recognised for this in the Working Families Report. Primarily we believe in fostering talent and to do that we need to be able to provide a modern work environment that reflects employees' modern lifestyles. The work we are doing at Addleshaw Goddard assists, I hope, to eradicate any remaining stigma, not just in the legal profession but in all organisations, around flexible working policies. "
