On our next Data Download webinar, we will be discussing the £20m fine recently issued by the ICO against British Airways.  This is the largest ever fine issued by the ICO, but it is significantly less than the intended fine of £183m announced by the ICO in July 2019.  

In this session, we will be looking at:

• the key points raised in the decision by the ICO as to why it decided to issue such a large fine;
• why this fine was ultimately reduced;
• we will consider why the investigation process has taken over 2 years; and
• whether or not this is indicative of how long future cases may take to resolve.
