EBA consultation on RTS requirements on customer authentication under PSD2

A consultation paper has been published by the EBA on the draft regulatory technical standards specifying the requirements on strong customer authentication under PSD2. The draft RTS were developed under Article 98 of PSD2 and the consultation will close on 12 October 2016.

Wearable payment band for Team GB athletes in Rio

Visa has confirmed that it will provide Team GB athletes and supporting crew with exclusive branded NFC-enabled payment bands, allowing them to make purchases by tapping the wearable bands at a payment terminal. The bands were developed in partnership with Barclaycard.

A report has been published by the World Economic Forum on the impact of implementing distributed ledger technology (DLT). The report suggests that DLT has significant potential to drive simplicity and efficiency, but highlights the need for collaboration between incumbents, FinTech participants and regulators.
