• Advising executors, trustees and beneficiaries on the administration of estates and trusts, including advising on the duties, responsibilities and roles of executors and trustees.
  • Advising high net worth individuals and families on lifetime succession/inheritance tax planning, the preparation of Wills, the creation and administration of trusts and the preparation and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney.
  • Advising a high net worth family in relation to their late father's estate advising on, amongst other issues, a compliance check brought by HM Revenue & Customs in respect of lifetime gifts made by the deceased during the last seven years of his life and the inheritance tax implications of those gifts.
  • Advising a high net worth family in relation to their mother's estate advising on, amongst other issues, a complicated trust arrangement involving the deceased's property entered into by the deceased and her husband during their respective lifetimes. This included dealing with the tax consequences arising out of the arrangement and dealing with HM Revenue & Customs regarding this.
  • Advising a high net worth client in relation to his Will and general estate planning including, amongst other things, his varied asset base and preparing a detailed Letter of Wishes on his behalf as to how the client envisaged his assets being distributed on his death.
  • Advising the trustees of two ultra-high net worth trusts in relation to ongoing trust administration matters and dealing with their other advisers (investment managers, accountants) on a daily basis in order to ensure that annual trust accounts, tax returns etc. are prepared/filed on time.
