Habib specialises in real estate finance and Islamic finance. He has almost 20 year of experience of working on some of the largest and most complicated conventional and Shariah compliant transactions in London, mainland Europe and the Middle East.

Prior to joining Addleshaw Goddard, Habib was based in the Middle East as a partner in an international law firm. His clients include both conventional and Shariah compliant banks and financial institutions.


Habib's recent experience includes:

  • Acting for the largest bank in Dubai on various Shariah compliant derivative and treasury product transactions worth over $700m.
  • Advising a subsidiary of a US rolled aluminium sheet producer based in Dubai on two corporate acquisition and working capital financings with a gross value of US$4.4 bn.
  • Advising various German banks on numerous real estate transactions, including investment and development transactions for financings and restructuring of trophy assets such as The Savoy Hotel, London, The Four Seasons, Park Lane in London, and the Beetham Tower in Manchester.
  • Advising the sponsor on the £400m Shariah compliant financing of The Grosvenor House Apartments in Park Lane, London.
  • Advising the various shareholders of Aston Martin on the £150m Shariah compliant investment by InvestIndustrial.
  • Acting for Great Portland Estates Plc on the debt for equity financing and restructuring of Marcol House, London.
