After qualifying Kate worked for 10 years as a Dispute Resolution associate at Lovells (as it then was), before becoming a Knowledge lawyer. At Lovells she acted for insurers on professional negligence claims, defended product liability claims and advised media organisations in relation to pre and post publication defamation and breach of confidence issues. 

On leaving Lovells Kate joined Dechert where she spent 7 years as a Knowledge Lawyer in their Dispute Resolution team. She joined Addleshaw Goddard in 2004 where she is responsible for training, updating, and acting as a sounding board for knotty issues encountered by, all lawyers in the Dispute Resolution Division. She also regularly organises and contributes articles for the website and client newsletters.

Between 2007 and 2017 Kate also sat on the Disciplinary and Admissions Committees of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
