EXPERTISE

Nathaniel is an Associate in the Global Investigations team, having joined the team in March 2022 following the completion of his training contract at Addleshaw Goddard. Prior to joining the Global Investigations team, Nathaniel completed a secondment at British Airways Plc, focussing primarily on disputes and commercial contracts. Before starting his training contract, Nathaniel worked in Addleshaw Goddard's Infrastructure, Projects and Energy team as a paralegal. In this role, Nathaniel acted on a variety of contentious and non-contentious matters relating to public bodies.

Experience

Nathaniel's recent experience includes:

successfully acting in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal in the private prosecution of an individual for contempt of court following breaches of a restraint order (sentenced to 7 months' imprisonment)
advising a FTSE 100 company in relation to a HMRC investigation involving foreign jurisdictions and alleged money laundering and bribery offences
acting on the private prosecution of a former company director, sentenced to 4.5 years in prison and disqualified from acting as a company director for eight years, who pleaded guilty to fraudulently misappropriating company funds
acting on the private prosecution of a number of individuals based in the UK and Germany for fraud and money laundering offences
advising a US company on the acquisition of property owned by a UK company under investigation by the Serious Fraud Office
