Matthias is an Associate in the Tax team in Germany. His area of activity comprises corporate tax law and international tax law. He advises his national and international clients in particular on tax issues in connection with M&A, private equity and real estate transactions. Moreover, he has special experience in the field of tax-optimised restructuring of companies and groups. In addition, he advises on the law regarding fiscal offences and represents clients in tax proceedings. 

Matthias studied law at the Julius-Maximilians-University in Wuerzburg. Thereafter, he served as a legal trainee (Rechtsreferendar) from 2016 to 2018 at the Higher Regional Court (Kammergericht) Berlin and worked during this time for the Finance Committee of the German Parliament (Deutscher Bundestag) and for the Federal Ministry of Finance (Bundesministerium der Finanzen). Afterwards he worked several years in the tax law department of an international accounting firm and for a renowned international law firm.
