Prior to joining Addleshaw Goddard Emily spent 5 years working at a motor finance company in a compliance role. Emily specialises in regulated lending and banking. She spent 6 months on secondment in a large bank's commercial cards department. Her experience includes:

  • providing advice to clients on all aspects of consumer credit legislation including the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (and associated regulations), the FCA Handbook and the drafting of consumer facing documentation including regulated agreements, pre-contractual information, post contractual notices and financial promotions;
  • supporting corporate transactions, with a particular focus on consumer loan and asset finance portfolio purchases;
  • providing advice to clients on FCA authorisation and permission, in particular in relation to FSMA regulated activities; and
  • reviewing consumer terms and conditions for compliance with unfair terms legislation, business efficacy and regulatory compliance.
