Chris is a managing associate in the Group and works predominantly for professional services firms and other people businesses on a broad range of issues including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures and internal / strategic governance and constitutional matters. Chris regularly works with senior management on key strategic projects and has advanced quickly to become an integral member of the Group.

He has an extensive knowledge of LLP and partnership law, and particular expertise in alternative business structures (ABS) and professional regulation (including Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) firm authorisation and practising requirements). Recent work highlights include advising on the opening of a number of leading US law firms’ London offices (including obtaining authorisation as an ABS), the SRA / ABS aspects of the sale of a major insurance business to private equity investors and the sale and restructuring of a major insurer’s interest in a law firm ABS.

Chris has a growing reputation in the professional practices market and was ranked in Chambers UK 2017 as an ‘Associate to watch’. He is also a member of the Association of Partnership Practitioners and leads the firm’s internal Professional Practices Focus Group.
