Will focuses and is a regular speaker on corporate governance, corporate compliance and listed company issues. Will was recently seconded as the acting company secretary of a FTSE-listed telecommunications company.
Prior to that, he was a corporate finance lawyer specialising in mergers and acquisitions and equity capital markets transactions and spent 18 months on secondment at the UK Listing Authority.
He has contributed to several books including The Financial Services and Markets Act - A Practical Legal Guide (Sweet & Maxwell) and The Business Case for Corporate Governance (Cambridge University Press), as well as writing A Directors' Guide to The Companies Act 2006 in conjunction with the Confederation of British Industry. He is also the co-author of our market-leading Company Secretary’s Checklist – The annual report of a listed company.
"Will is a star performer at board level. He brings an ease of understanding to the governance story, whilst remaining exceptionally clear on the requirements. He delivers context, examples and balance...and has a knowledgeable, approachable, effective and proportionate voice to address concerns about the large governance burden, without devaluing the importance of the message. If Will is indicative of the firm, it shows what the firm can do at the highest level."
