Sophie commenced her career as a general commercial litigator but through practical experience and as a result in studying a masters in Construction Law and Practice, has developed extensive expertise in construction dispute resolution.

Sophie has a wide range of experience in matters of construction and engineering litigation, having worked with parties from all levels of the supply chain (from sub-contractors and manufacturers up to developers and employers).

Sophie is currently a key member of the AG team working on Bridgewater Place, Leeds' most iconic building.

Through previous employment, Sophie has worked on cases involving tunnelling, pre-cast concrete manufacturing, steelworks (e.g. in respect of the 'Walkie Talkie' building) and waste water management for a pet food manufacturing facility and Thames water works schemes.

Sophie has experience of adjudications, adjudication enforcement and taking cases through the Technology and Construction Court. She is also familiar with arbitral proceedings and excels in a wide range of disputes including contract formation, loss and expense, delays, extensions of time, variations, payment disputes, negligence and claims for defects, claims under bonds, breaches of warranty etc.
