Zanib is an Associate in our Infrastructure, Projects and Energy team and has experience in advising on a number of large projects, in particular for clients in the Energy and Transport Sector. Zanib has advised our major clients on all aspects of a project and has been seconded to Serco Caledonian Sleeper Limited as General Council where she advised the business on all commercial and corporate aspects relating to the operation of the Caledonian Sleeper. Zanib has also worked internationally in our Dubai office advising on MENA based transactions.


Examples of some of Zanib's experience include providing advice and support in relation to the following:

  • Seconded to Serco Caledonian Sleeper Limited and liaised with and managed the train manufacturing company to design and introduce a new fleet of trains, advised on station development and provided legal advice on all business as usual aspects for the current fleet, including negotiating with the franchise owner Transport Scotland.
  • Advising a large development company on the construction of a new electricity substation in Manchester including advising on the capacity reservation agreement, connection agreement and infrastructure agreement.
  • Advising the Department for Transport on the West Coast Franchise Partnership.
  • Acted for ENGIE on its acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Chargepoint Services Limited, which provides end-to-end technology for public, workplace and private sector electric vehicle charging.
  • Acted for Hitachi Europe on its successful bid for the Tyne and Wear Metro rolling stock deal, specifically reviewing the Manufacture and Supply Agreement and Train Supply Agreement.
  • Advised Transport for Greater Manchester on its procurement for the development of the Greater Manchester electric vehicle network, including operation and maintenance services and installation of new EVC infrastructure. This is one of the most significant electric vehicle schemes to date.
  • Advised the Omani Regulator in relation to the tender process to extend the power and water purchase agreement including reviewing the Royal Decrees for the relevant sector and tender law.
  • Advised the buyer on the acquisition of an 18.45MW wind farm in Scotland, including providing advice on the ROC accreditation, connection to the Grid, O&M and relating project documents.
  • Advised British Land on its tender for soft and hard facility management services for Medowhall and providing legal and project management support in the tender process.
  • Advised West Yorkshire Combined Authority on the procurement for the supply, installation and operation of electronic charging points in the West Yorkshire region.
  • Advised a French multinational electric utility company in relation to the acquisition of an electric car charging business.
  • Provided regulatory and restructuring advice to Manchester Airport Group.
  • Advised on the sale of 50% ownership of one of the largest onshore wind farms in England with an installed capacity of 50.4MW and 100% ownership of an 8.2MW capacity onshore wind farm for a large infrastructure and real estate investment group.
  • Advised National Grid Commercial Engineering Services on its successful bid to provide maintenance services to National Grid Interconnectors Limited (through a multi-supplier procurement process).
  • Undertaking secondment work for a major energy supplier, including advising their energy markets division on updating their power purchase agreements in light of commercial and regulatory change.
  • Advised SSE on the procurement and outsourcing of their IT services and public cloud services.
  • Reviewed and reported on EPC contracts and PPA's in relation to the acquisition of 80 ground solar farm projects and 900 rooftop projects by a multinational oil company.
  • Assisting National Grid on drafting and negotiating its Commercial Engineering Services contracts and providing a playbook for the teams.
  • Advised a UAE based construction group on the acquisition of an EPC contractor in the oil and gas industry.
