The Banking Group, under the leadership of Richard Papworth, is a leading UK banking and asset finance practice with a strong City presence and market leading teams in Leeds and Manchester. The National Banking teams provide advice to many UK and international banks, building societies and corporate clients.
Our specialist Banking Group differentiates itself from other UK law firms by acting for all major UK banks, 40 of the 60 building societies nationwide and a significant number of foreign banks.
Through our first class corporate and property client base, we also have the opportunity of working alongside some very sophisticated purchasers of financial services and we have an understanding of what these organisations require.
Being members of many major bank panels and building solid working relationships has allowed us to understand how they approach their major clients enabling our banking teams to offer a more tailored and effective service.
We regularly advise lenders on their arrangement of significant syndicated facilities (including leveraged finance, social housing finance and real estate finance) and are therefore familiar with primary syndication issues.
