Addleshaw Goddard's Manchester Corporate team has advised Concept Life Sciences, a scientific laboratory and consultancy group, on its acquisition of CXR Biosciences, a leading investigative toxicology business.

The acquisition of CXR Biosciences, which is the group's fourth acquisition since formation, will complement Concept Life Sciences' existing platform of problem solving chemical synthesis and biological services, as well as further strengthening the group's portfolio offering and enhancing its ability to support its customers' complex discovery projects.

CXR Biosciences CEO, Paul Smith, will continue to head up the business, with all staff including the management team joining the Concept Life Sciences group.

The deal was led by AG Partner Paul Medlicott and Managing Associate Jamie Partridge, alongside; Helena Drury, Lisa Woodberry and Jake Minards-Tonge.

Led by Executive Chairman Michael Fort and Chief Executive Officer Alan Morgan, the Concept Life Sciences group currently has over 600 staff in 11 core locations, with advanced plans for further expansion into continental Europe.

AG continues to advise Concept Life Sciences, and previously advised Equistone Partners Europe in relation to the formation of the group in 2014.
