This summer, the FCA is planning to consult on changes to its rules and guidance required to reflect the RTS, Opinion and Draft Guidelines.

The EBA recently published clarifications and its draft guidance on the RTS on strong customer authentication and secure communication standards.

The RTS sets out the standards for strong customer authentication, the instances when payment service providers can be exempted from such authentication and standards for secure communication. It will apply from 14 September 2019. However, the technical specifications of any interfaces made available by account servicing payment service providers (ASPSPs) and testing facilities for the same must be available from 14 March 2019.
